The New Jersey Devils lost another critical game tonight as they fell 3-0 to the Boston Bruins. However, one rookie Devil got a chance to make a name for himself as he got into an altercation with Bruins captain Brad Marchand.
Devils Rookie Defenseman Takes Down Marchand With Violent Body Slam
The player in question is none other than former 2nd overall draft pick Simon Nemec. Nemec is currently completing his rookie season and he has had several impressive moments, including tonight's altercation with Brad Marchand. The rookie blueliner took down the 35-year-old NHL captain with easy as he slammed him into the ice. I would like to discuss this play with Simon Nemec over a Taylor Ham with cheese on an everything. The #NJDevils have a star here.

The Devils even posted the play on their own official X page in lieu of goal tweets. Nemo has gone full Jersey.

Devils Rookie Goaltender Gives Impressive Performance In Shutout Loss
The Devils did not have many positive things to come out of the game other than Nemec's interaction with Marchand and their goaltender Nico Daws, who was very good despite losing the game. Obviously it is always hard to blame the goaltender when the team in front of him doesn't score any goals but that would be especially true for Daws tonight as he was arguably the team's best player. Despite Nico Daws' best efforts, the #NJDevils fell to the Bruins on Monday, 3-0. The young keeper finished with 33 saves on 35 shots and 2.66 saves above expected, per Money Puck.

The Devils now find themselves in danger of dropping out of the playoff race altogether as they are 6th in the Metro division with their 22-16-3 record. Stay tuned to see if Daws can lead the team to a vital playoff run this season.
