Holland of course stepped down from his role as the Edmonton Oilers General Manager this summer and took on a brand new role in the Hockey Operations Department with the NHL's headquarters.

During the interview, Holland was asked about the new role and he referenced a moment of being in the NHL's situation room during a review of a controversial goal by St. Louis Blues defenseman Colton Parayko. It was amazing to watch it all come together, Holland said per Dauly Faceoff, I'm thrilled for the opportunity to continue to be around the league, This gets me out of the house a little bit, but also keeps me in the game. Holland continued and admitted it has been a good adjustment for him to see the game from a whole new perspective beyond just one team's point of view. When you're a manager, you tend to only see things from one direction, and now I see things both ways, Holland said. It's been good for me, from a different perspective After speaking about his current situation it was of course time to talk about the future for Holland and whether he could see himself returning to the team side of things.
Ken Holland reveals if he would be open to returning to an NHL team's front office
As the interview continued, Daily Faceoff discussed Holland's future and asked him if he has considered returning to a team or if he is enjoying retirement for the time being. Holland admitted that for now, he is enjoying contributing in his new role and taking the stress off of his plate that he felt for decades as the General Manager of the Detroit Red Wings and Edmonton Oilers. At the same time, Holland admitted that he does miss the job and the stress to an extent and that he could see himself back in that type of role eventually. ' I'm enjoying this year and we'll see what happens. Hopefully I can add to the Hockey Ops department, Holland said. For the first time, since July 1, I haven't had any stress. It's been an stress-free existence. But I'm not sure if I enjoy a stress-free existence It seems pretty clear that Holland still has the itch to return to a team eventually and chase another Stanley Cup before he officially ends his career as an executive but it remains to be seen which team that might be. As the season continues on it will be fun to hear more from Holland and see if his name circulates in connection to any General Manager positions that inevitably open up.
