The chance to see Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers lift the Stanley Cup was too enticing for many fans to pass up.

While thousands of Oilers supporters will nervously watch Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final from Edmonton, some dedicated fans decided they had to be there in person.

They boarded a five-hour flight from Edmonton to Florida, making their way to Sunrise for Monday's do-or-die matchup at Amerant Bank Arena. The night before Game 7, Oilers fans were already making their presence known, seen in jerseys as they took over a beach in Florida the calm before the storm. Yet what it does mean is there's going to be a lot of Orange in the sea of Red tonight.

Florida fans on social media had mixed reactions to the influx of Oilers supporters.

Haha no way, we literally just sat with those fellas having a meal tonight. Couple of good Saskatchewan boys!

Others were less amused.

I was in the Las Olas area yesterday and man, there are a ton of Oilers fans here. I met one outside of a Total Wine who said he was grabbing cigars and drinks for a celebration. I would love to send these dudes home sad.

The Oilers have made a thrilling comeback in the series, rallying from a 3-0 deficit to force this decisive Game 7. Now, hockey fans everywhere are eager to see if they can complete the comeback and make history tonight.
