Ken Holland left the Edmonton Oilers this off-season after a lengthy stint, and now he's landing a new role with the brand new Utah Hockey Club. The Utah Hockey Club are the NHL's newest squad, and after inheriting a young squad from Arizona, it's clear that they are trying to get some veteran presence in the locker room and the front office. They did that by acquiring the likes of Mikhail Sergachev and Sean Durzi this off-season, but now they've added another experienced hand, with Ken Holland confirmed for a role in the organization.

According to a report, the former Red Wings and Oilers GM has accepted a role with the NHL's newest team, and although it's not clear what his role is, he will likely have a significant voice in the front office. After helping the Red Wings to four Stanley Cup's during his time there, Holland would move on to Edmonton, and while he couldn't quite get his team over the hump, the organization is in a much better spot when he left than it was when he arrived.

With the Utah Hockey Club looking to make a splash in year one, there's few experienced hockey voices that better suit a role in the front office than Holland, and if he can help the team be patient with the development of their young stars while also pushing for a Stanley Cup Playoff berth, this could be a very good team for some time to come.
