A new report has suggested that the career of a former top 5 pick in the NHL has come to an end.

Former Top NHL Draft Pick Retires Suddenly

A post on Instagram has indicated that former 2nd overall pick Nolan Patrick has retired from the NHL. The post by Powerplay Hockey has announced Patrick as their new skills coach.

Patrick joins former NHLers Jayce Hawryluk and Ian McCoshen as part of the staff. Nolan Patrick ends his NHL career with 222 NHL games played with the Philadelphia Flyers and Vegas Golden Knights.

Patrick will now step into the coaching world and look to carve out a role that potentially leads back to the NHL.
