The Edmonton Oilers are loaded with star power up front, but after another disappointing playoff display, it appears they've still got some massive holes to fill.

Goaltender struggles continue

Despite a fantastic rookie campaign from Stuart Skinner and a big contracted handed out to Jack Campbell, this team still struggled in net when it mattered most, with another disappointing playoff exit in Edmonton.

Now, the 2023-24 season has started, and unfortunately, those issues haven't been fixed, and it now makes sense that an insider has reported they were eyeing off a superstar this past summer.

A dominant star

After reports that Jeremy Swayman could be had via trade from the Boston Bruins, the Oilers made their best push to land the rising star, but unfortunately, the asking price was just too high for GM Ken Holland.

The Oilers tried to get Jeremy Swayman from the Boston Bruins in the summer but the price was too high.

Swayman has gone on to be one of the best goaltenders in the NHL through five starts this season, notching an incredible .954 save percentage and a 1.38 GAA, so if he's available at the deadline, they need to push hard for him again.
