While Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas was quick to hold a press briefing after the major three-team deal involving the Habs, Kent Hughes remains fairly quiet.

Like it or not, his silence speaks volumes, and we all assume that further transactions involving acquired players could occur in the coming hours.

Until then, Jeff Petry is once again a member of the Montreal Canadiens, much to his surprise. Eric Engels spoke to the family, and their comments are quite disturbing.

"I've been in touch with them and they're doing well under the circumstances. What happened happened and they know the hockey business. They're aware that Kent Hughes will try to trade the veteran defenseman by the start of the season, but if he can't, they'll come to Montreal and do everything in their power to try to turn the situation into a positive."

- Eric Engels

This is far from a positive statement. However, we have confirmation that Kent Hughes' plan is to deal the defenseman again, which is reassuring under the circumstances.
