In surprising but wholesome news today, a new Netflix documentary is set to detail Henrik Lundqvist's time with the Washington Capitals, during which he underwent heart surgery.

Henrik Lundqvist is one of the NHL's best modern-era goaltenders, suiting up for the New York Rangers for the entirety of his career. That was until he tried to make a comeback for the Washington Capitals before being forced to undergo heart surgery, which ultimately prevented him from suiting up for the Caps.

Now, according to RMNB, a new Netflix documentary is set to come out called Open Heart, which will detail Lundqvist's attempt to come back to the NHL for the Caps.

"Open Heart," a documentary focused on Henrik Lundqvist's time with the Capitals, will debut on Netflix in May.

The doc goes behind the scenes of Lundqvist's heart surgery and attempts a comeback with the Caps.

The documentary is set to come out in May and should entice hockey fans across the world to tune in. Even if somehow you aren't a fan of the heartwarming story that is Henrik Lundqvist's attempt to come back to the NHL, it should give a good behind-the-scenes look at what goes down in the NHL and what it takes to play.

We will certainly be tuning in to the doc when it comes out.
