Sidney Crosby Addresses Guentzel Trade By Throwing Shade At Kyle Dubas

The Pittsburgh Penguins were supposed to be competing for a playoff spot this season. Now they are officially sellers as Kyle Dubas traded Jake Guentzel last night. When asked about the deal, Sidney Crosby didn't seem too pleased.

Crosby Blames Dubas For Guentzel Trade

The Penguins captain showed a lot of frustration in his post-game interview last night. This is understandable considering how difficult the past few days have been for the team, especially since they dropped the game in embarrassing fashion.

One reporter asked Crosby what kind of message the trade sent to the team. He responded with an annoyed tone, saying that the reporter would have to ask Dubas that question.

However, that was not the end of the conversation about Guentzel.

Crosby Shows Emotion In Thoughts About Guentzel Trade

Crosby was the captain of the Penguins for Guentzel's entire tenure with the team. As such, the two players developed a strong bond as they regularly played together for large stretches of their careers. This showed when he was asked how he felt about the trade last night. He touched on some of Guentzel's best qualities as a human being.

The two players shared many core memories together, including the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals where the team won their second consecutive championship. This was Guentzel's first Cup win as he was a rookie.

The 29-year-old has had quite the career so far as he has been a very successful scorer under Crosby's wing. Now he looks to begin a new chapter of his career where hopefully he will win another championship.
