The Boston Bruins faced an arbitration hearing a year ago with Jeremy Swayman, but in 2024 it appears that they'll avoid that unnecessary process. Last off-season, there was plenty of chatter around the Boston Bruins having to make a big goaltending decision as Jeremy Swayman and the team dealt with arbitration. It's a tough situation for both parties to be in that can strain a relationship, and after Boston came in at $2 million while Swayman started at $4.8 million, the two parties would ultimately settle on $3.5 million. Now, there was a big time chance that would happen again this summer, but after the latest update, it appears both teams have opted against arbitration, which is a fantastic sign for two parties to operate in good faith. Bruins have elected not to file for arbitration

The team would start this off-season by trading Vezina Trophy winning goaltender Linus Ullmark, and they would only do that if they had confidence in retaining Swayman, with the 25-year old set to extend his stay in Boston for a long time to come. In 44 games a season ago, Swayman had a .916 save percentage along with a 2.53 GAA before improving both of those numbers drastically in the playoffs, so expect to see him get an upgraded deal for a long time to come as the Bruins chase the Stanley Cup.
