Zach Hyman and Connor McDavid faced the music. Both stars revealed their thoughts on the Edmonton Oilers offseason moves following their 2-1 Game 7 loss to the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final on June 24. Edmonton added former 40 goal scorers Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson, acquired prized prospect Matt Savoie in exchange for Ryan McLeod, and added defenseman Josh Brown for depth. It's safe to say both are singing La Bamba about those moves. To go all the way & come back the way we did, to be within a goal, you can almost taste it & it kind of gets ripped away. It's only been a few weeks since the #Oilers season ended in Game 7 of the Final, but they're already gearing up for another go.

Hyman praised the job of former GM Ken Holland who left the organization and new president Jeff Jackson. Kenny did a great job during the year, and with Kenny leaving, (Jeff Jackson) took over and has done a great job bringing in new guys and keeping the team strong. It's a testament to the team that players are willing to come back on team-friendly deals to win. McDavid, this year's Conn Smythe trophy winner added his own perspective. It's been short, it's been hurried. But I think in the small time they've been at it they've done great things. Keeping as many guys together is a good thing in the salary cap era. It's tough to do that and [Jackson has] done a great job of finding a way to do that, for the most part. It's been short and hurried, but they've done great things.
