Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard just earned his first major sponsorship of his career, but Gary Bettman won't be happy with who he signed with. The phenom goal scorer is coming off his rookie season in which he potted 22 tallies in just 68 games. He also added 39 assists for 61 points in his rookie campaign, just shy of a point-per-game season. He is expected to develop into one of the league's very best players in the coming years, which is likely why sponsors are eager to sign him. Today, Gatorade became the first to do so. Connor Bedard is the newest Gatorade athlete for Gatorade Canada (🎥@GatoradeCanada) #Blackhawks

Gatorade Canada is offering a special giveaway to celebrate the deal. They are handing out 98 signature Gatorade squeeze bottles signed by the former 1st overall pick to fans who interact with the announcement post. Gatorade Canada is expanding their roster by welcoming Connor Bedard to the team. To pay homage to the many bottles Connor Bedard has popped off the net and dented through his astonishing snapshot, Gatorade Canada has partnered with Daily Faceoff to give YOU the chance to win one of these 98 dented and signed Connor Bedard Gatorade squeeze bottles.

Interestingly, this announcement comes just after the NHL announced a new official sports hydration partner last season. BodyArmor sports drink replaced Biosteel as the sponsor when the playoffs began last season. BODYARMOR Sports Drink today announced a new multi-year North American partnership to become the «Official Sports Drink» partner of the @NHL and @NHLPA.

Interestingly, Bodyarmor is owned by the coca-cola company, while Gatorade is owned by Pepsi. This means that Bedard's new sponsor is the single biggest competitor to one of the league's biggest sponsors. As such, Gary Bettman might not be particularly thrilled to hear about this news. I think they just went to biosteel for a few years as an excuse to go from pepsi(gatorade) to coke(bodyarmour)🤔

Source: HouseofHockey Connor Bedard signs a new contract in Canada and Gary Bettman is not a fan
