Viktor Arvidsson is a name to watch on the trade market, and now it appears the Edmonton Oilers forward is ready to waive his NMC to get a deal done. The Edmonton Oilers are expected to be a very busy team ahead of this weeks trade deadline, and while most expect them to add a veteran or two to the team, they've made it clear that some of their veterans could be available. The obvious name to be moved in Edmonton was Viktor Arvidsson, but before that talk could heat up, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that unbeknown to many people in the NHL world, the team gave him a No Movement Clause as a free agent this season.

Now, this story has become even more intriguing, as Tom Gazzola has confirmed that his sources have stated that Arvidsson could be open to waiving his NMC for the right situation, although he gave mixed signals in his reporting. I had no idea he had a no trade clause, we found that out this morning. But what I was told is, Arvidsson might be willing to be traded. When I asked around to people within the organization, that was news to them.

At this point in time, it appears that reporters and people within the Oilers organization are just as confused on what's happening with Arvidsson, with his future in Edmonton now clearly up in the air. In 45 games this season, the 31-year old veteran has tallied 7 goals and 19 points, so he's clearly been a help to their middle-six. However, with Evander Kane potentially on the way back soon (or also possibly traded), it makes him expendable as they look to fill other holes on the roster, so keep a close eye on this team in the next few days as anything could happen.
