Today a new report has revealed how Evander Kane feels about his future with the Edmonton Oilers and gives a major update on his health.

During the Stanley Cup Playoffs the Edmonton Oilers were missing Evander Kane due to an injury he suffered in one of the early series. Since the end of the season, there have not been many updates about his health.

On top of his injury, many wondered if the team would trade Evander Kane after new General Manager Jeff Jackson added forwards like Jeff Skinner. Even NHL insider Elliotte Friedman believed the relationship between the two sides had soured.

Friedman says things between Oilers and Kane are getting sour and mentioned if Jeff Skinner signs in Canada it will be with Edmonton.

Despite this initial report a new report has come in from a different source that indicates things are good between the two sides and Evander Kane is excited to return.

Report confirms Evander Kane's future with the Edmonton Oilers

Today the 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast reported that their sources think Evander Kane is healthy again and excited about staying in Edmonton. He recently bought a home in Edmonton and wants to be part of what the Oilers are building.

Based on reports we've gotten over the last 48 hours @EdmontonOilers forward @evanderkane should be fully recovered & healthy by September when training camp opens up.

Kane has been able to do some activities, he's been golfing with his friends in Edmonton & enjoying life as he should be. He's also built a new home in Edmonton & the community has treated him very well as he's also treated the community well in return. It's been a great fit for both sides. He wants to be apart of this winning culture, he's been adding to it since be got to Edmonton.

The health is the most serious thing here, it sounds like it's been getting better for Kane. Which is a huge positive.

With this new information, it seems like the Edmonton Oilers will not be making a major move involving Evander Kane. Even if the Oilers wanted to move on from Evander Kane he holds a no-trade clause and with how happy he is in Edmonton it is unlikely he would wave it.

The offseason has only just begun and there is plenty of time for this to change. If there are any major developments regarding the future of Evander Kane we will pass them along to you.
