Tonight a new report has revealed more surrounding the J.T. Miller including a narrowly missed trade before he ended up with the New York Rangers.

It has now been over a month since J.T. Miller was traded by the Vancouver Canucks to the New York Rangers.

Since then there have been ongoing reports about the conflict that led Miller to be traded and how the negotiations went that led him to go to the Rangers.

Tonight a report from Renaud Lavoie confirmed that Miller who has a no-trade clause denied a trade to a Stanley Cup contender before ultimately allowing himself to be dealt to the Rangers.

J.T. Miller Reportedly Shut Down Blockbuster Trade

According to Lavoie, there were several teams who tried to trade for Miller including the Colorado Avalanche.

Lavoie revealed that a trade was nearly finalized between the two sides but got struck down as soon as Miller was asked to waive his no-trade clause.

Miller was determined to be a New York Rangers if the Vancouver Canucks were going to trade him to a new home and he ultimately got his wish to head back to the Big Apple.

Since being acquired by the Rangers, Miller has 10 points in 9 games and elevated the play of other stars like Mika Zibanejad.

At the end of the day, the Canucks got a good deal for Miller and the Avalanche ended up with the short end of the stick not securing Miller to replace Mikko Rantanen.

One does have to wonder though what the Canucks could have gotten from the Colorado Avalanche if Miller was willing to be traded there.
