Like last year, the Vegas Golden Knights are once again dealing with injuries in front of the net, as the team's number one goalie, Logan Thompson, was injured on February 11.

This situation is very reminiscent of Robin Lehner, who has been on the long-term injury list since last season due to several serious injuries at the same time.

As reported by Patrick Beauséjour of Fanadiens.com, Vegas could very likely acquire a goaltender, with an eye toward the playoffs and again, Jake Allen is back in the rumor mill.

Former TVA Sports statistician Stephane Laberge made a trade suggestion to Kent Hughes involving Allen.

This suggestion makes absolutely no sense, in my opinion, but here it is:

Basically, he would send the 32 year old goalie to Vegas for Nicolas Roy.

If the Habs don't get a goalie in return, even if it's only an AHL goalie, they'll be short of a goalie for the end of the season, especially since the organization currently only has three goalies signed to NHL contracts, including Cayden Primeau.

Trading Allen would leave only two in the entire organization.

Furthermore, despite the fact that fans love the 26-year-old Quebecer, the Habs don't need to add a third- or fourth-row forward to their roster, especially in return for their main goalie.

Even though the former fourth-round pick of the Hurricanes in 2015 has 23 points in 52 games this season, with Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach, Christian Dvorak and Jake Evans at center, the Habs don't need to add another, especially since he comes with a $3.0M contract for four more seasons.

In short, in my opinion, this proposal makes no sense, but I ask you: would you trade Jake Allen for Nicolas Roy?
