Invited to Georges Laraque's microphone on BPM Sports on Monday, Alex Kovalev agreed to talk about some very interesting subjects, including his regrets about leaving the Habs.

The former number 27 also talked about his relationship with Saku Koivu, which was not always easy. According to him, Saku is not an easy person and he saw Kovalev's arrival as a threat: Saku was not an easy person. I don't know if he thought I wanted to take his place when I arrived in Montreal. I had to make him understand that I wasn't there to fight him. It wasn't a question of who's the best, who's the most important. We're doing the same job. - Alex Kovalev

Obviously, both players have learned to work together and the Habs have had their moments of success during their joint stint with the team. This is not the first time we've heard less positive things about Koivu. Nonetheless, the longest-serving C on his jersey in team history has accomplished great things on and off the ice. He has dedicated some of his life and money to the city of Montreal and we thank him for that.
