It was a big story in the media yesterday as we learned that forward Jonathan Drouin had disobeyed a house rule by missing a team meeting.

He was punished by head coach Martin St-Louis by not jumping on the ice for today's practice, and he could even be left out tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In connection with this story, journalist Renaud Lavoie revealed the identity of three other players who committed this infraction like Drouin, by missing team meetings.

The one whose name is most familiar to fans here is P.K. Subban.

The reporter made a point of praising St. Louis' toughness with this rule by not hesitating for a second to punish Drouin. That wasn't always the case with the Habs.

According to Lavoie, the former CH number 76 often missed team meetings and broke the rule, but he was never punished. It seems that this situation frustrated his teammates, and we can understand why.

"I remember back in the P.K. Subban days, when he was playing with the Montreal Canadiens, it was, I don't want to say the norm, but he would show up late to team meetings on a few occasions, and it frustrated his teammates greatly.

What frustrated his teammates even more was that there were never any consequences for Subban. He was never left out of a game, and he was never told to stay in the hotel. (Like St. Louis did with Drouin yesterday)." - Renaud Lavoie

The latter also mentioned the names of two other players who missed team meetings: Alex Ovechkin and Tyler Seguin (when he played for the Boston Bruins).

In both cases, they were both punished by their respective coaches for a game, by Claude Julien for Seguin and Barry Trotz for Ovechkin.
