The Calgary Flames have been busy trying to find the right person to be their next head coach. After the disastrous relationship former head coach Daryl Sutter had with most of his players, the Flames are looking for someone who can work more successfully with the team. Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman discussed the Flames on his 32 Thoughts podcast, saying: I do believe Muller is going to get a look there... Travis Green is another guy on their radar. I did not mention Andrew Brunette, but I should. The whole Huberdeau connection I think is not insignificant. Another name worth mentioning is Alex Tanguay. A couple of people told me that Conroy and Iginla, who know Tanguay very well, hold him in high regard. Additionally, I've heard that Calgary wants to improve their offense. All of the names revealed by Friedman would be excellent choices. Personally, I would like to see Kirk Muller named as the head coach. Muller had an outstanding NHL career and has been a great assistant coach, especially with the Montreal Canadiens. I think he would fit nicely in Calgary.
