Max Domi is finding his way as a Toronto Maple Leaf, and last night appeared to get away with what was a blatant cheap shot when seen on replay.
Domi Gets Away With Bad Interference On Rangers Rookie
The Leafs struggled last night, not being able to get anything going really on offence. Trying to spark the team, Max Domi may have taken this play a little too far. During the play, Domi hits Rangers' rookie Will Cuylle long after he tried to play the puck at center ice. You can see the Rangers bench looking for a call, though they wouldn't get one on the play. Domi drops Cuylle (this is interference lol)

There was no penalty on the play, though the hit didn't really spark the Leafs much in terms of getting them going on offence or defence.
Domi Finding His Groove For the Leafs
Domi had some growing pains to go through when he first arrived in Toronto but now has seemed to find his groove as the Leafs' third-line center. Despite having just two goals for the Leafs this year, he has 15 assists for 17 points, which is more than decent production from the third-liner.

Domi also brings a sense of urgency, toughness, and comradery to the lineup that was a piece that the Leafs always were missing. Not in the sense that he is the toughest guy on the ice, but that he won't back down when something goes awry. This type leadership is contagious, as even rookie Matthew Knies has taken shape, dropping the gloves Saturday.
