The New York Rangers could be looking to reach an agreement with the Montreal Canadiens ahead of the upcoming draft and trading period.

According to New York journalist Arthur Staple, the Rangers have offered Barclay Goodrow's contract in exchange for a second-round pick in 2023.

Goodrow has been an integral part of the team since the beginning of the season, with 31 points (11 goals). He signed a contract worth $3.6 million per year until 2027 and is considered a power forward who can make an impact in the playoffs.

Here's what the trade would look like:

"To MONTREAL:- Barclay Goodrow- 2023 2nd-round pick

To NEW YORK:- Future considerations"

It's worth noting that the Lightning acquired Goodrow last year in exchange for a first-round pick in 2020, highlighting his value as an asset.

For Montreal, this trade could be beneficial as they look to restructure their team for the upcoming season.
