The NHL is the world's fastest and most physical hockey league. Sometimes players take things a step too far, which is exactly what happened with Rasmus Andersson the last time the Flames played the Blue Jackets.
Andersson Crosses The Line, Puts Laine On Injured Reserve
The last time the Flames faced the Blue Jackets, things got chippy right as the game was ending. Quite literally in the final seconds, Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson decided to charge Laine for some reason, jumping before making contact to ensure he hit him up high.

Andersson earned a four-game suspension for the play which the Flames appealed. Upon further review the initial call stood and Andersson served his four games.

Laine Waiting To Play Flames Again, 'Pretty Excited' For Matchup
Even Laine said the hit from Andersson was Unnecessary. While it is common for players to call out opponents for dirty hits, its usually teammates that are doing that, not the player who was hit himself. That being said, Laine is apparently eager to play the Flames again so he can extract some revenge from Andersson. Patrik Laine said the hit that took him out of the lineup -- and led to a suspension for Calgary's Rasmus Andersson -- was unnecessary. Laine: The only thing I have to say, I'm pretty excited to play him in January. I'll just leave it at that. #CBJ

Laine only has one career fight. It will be interesting to see if that changes when the Blue Jackets face off against the Flames in Calgary on January 25th.
