Andrei Markov spent his career with the Canadiens, playing 990 games with the team. The former No. 79 was underrated throughout his NHL career, but his fellow blue-liners are unanimous: they had their best moments with Markov. Now, at 44, Markov is embarking on a coaching career, having unfortunately recently been dismissed by HC Spartak Moscow. Great news for him, however, as he joins the Torpedo coaching staff with Igor Larionov.

There are reports out that Andrei Markov may join Igor Larionov's coaching staff with Torpedo. #KHL pic.twitter.com/M6HyCy6z6I- Hockey News Hub (@HockeyNewsHub) May 28, 2023
This is major for his coaching career, and who knows, maybe Markov will return one day with the Habs in a completely different role.
