Heading in to the NHL trade deadline the Boston Bruins were a major topic of conversation. Many fans and media wondered if they would split up their goalie tandem of Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark. A report from this evening has confirmed they tried to do so but hit a roadblock.

Bruins Lose Out On Blockbuster Trade Involving Former Vezina Winner

After the trade deadline had passed reports quickly came in regarding a narrowly missed trade involving the Boston Bruins. According to these reports the Bruins were on the verge of sending Linus Ullmark to a new home. However, Ullmark who has a no trade clause denied the move.

The #Bruins 🇺🇸 had a deal in place to trade reigning Vezina winner Linus Ullmark 🇸🇪 — but he 'nixed' the deal due to the geography of the team he would've been going to.

According to the report the location of the team was the main factor in Ullmark not wanting to move. The reports do not confirm who the team involved is though.

Bruins Look To Make A Cup Run With Dynamic Goalie Duo

With the trade deadline now passed the Bruins will have their talented goalie duo together for the rest of the season. On deadline day the Bruins were relatively quiet. The biggest move they made involved acquiring defenseman Andrew Peeke from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

As the seasons winds down it will be interesting to see if the trade rumors surrounding Linus Ullmark continue. If the Bruins were looking to move on from him they likely will continue having conversations with teams into the summer. Once the offseason hits it will be fun to see if Ullmark changes his tune on a new home.
