Ryan Getzlaf joining Gary Bettman and George Parros in important new role

Former Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf is coming back to the NHL, not as a player, but in a brand new role alongside Gary Bettman.

Ryan Getzlaf will be joining Gary Bettman and George Parros in the department of Player Safety.

Ryan Getzlaf was with the Anaheim Ducks for his whole career and was a very physical player. He now joins George Parros in the role of Player Safety, so they will be working together to make decisions on future aspects.

The exact role that Ryan Getzlaf will have has not officially been confirmed yet, however it is expected that he will be heavily involved in any policies and decision making alongside George Parros and Gary Bettman.
