Kris Letang has been a constant for the Pittsburgh Penguins over the years, but now the veteran defenseman reportedly wants to go home. For years now, the Pittsburgh Penguins have found massive success with their superstar trio, but with all three ageing, the end is certainly on the way. Sidney Crosby's contract continues to drag, Evgeni Malkin is reportedly on the way out, and now we know that the third member of that trio reportedly asked for a trade. According to Penguins reporter Mark Madden, Kristopher Letang, the Penguins star defenseman reportedly requested a trade to his home town Montreal Canadiens in recent times.

This request came a while ago , and while Kent Hughes kicked the tires on a potential deal, nothing came of it and the 37-year old remains with the Pittsburgh Penguins. With a roster full of up and coming young players, Letang would be a fantastic leader for this team moving forward, but after paying several of those players this summer, it stands to reason that they wouldn't be able to make a deal happen. Letang has four years remaining on his current deal that will pay him $6.1 million per season, and with his numbers slightly declining, it's likely that he'll remain in Pittsburgh for the remainder of his career unless something drastic with another team changes.
