The Tampa Bay Lightning suffered a huge loss this past week with Mikhail Sergachev going down, and now, they have a major hole to fill if they wish to make another deep run in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Tampa Bay Lightning to land Flames star Noah Hanifin?

While they're hardly the first team linked to Calgary's Noah Hanifin, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has now officially revealed that the recent two-time Stanley Cup Champions could chase the 27-year old star.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been linked to Noah Hanifin ahead of the trade deadline.

Tampa Bay join a list of teams that include the Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins among others that have interest in the defenseman, meaning a major bidding war could ensue.

Noah Hanifin could be a major piece moved at the deadline

While names like Chris Tanev and Jake Guentzel could be on the move too, Hanifin is on of the biggest names available, and with 48 and 38 points over the past two years, he's a valuable name.

In 2023-24, Hanifin has tallied 29 points thus far alongside Tanev, and if the Flames stay patient, it's likely that they could get a big return for the former Carolina Hurricane, whether that's from Tampa Bay or another team. At this current stage, the return appears to be at least a first-round pick, and if the Lightning want to make a run in spite of Sergachev's devastating injury, there's no better replacement than Hanifin, the pending UFA for the summer of 2024.
