Veteran Devils Defenseman Calls Out Matt Rempe For Disrespectful Conduct After Dirty Hit

Rangers rookie Matt Rempe is making his way onto everyone's naughty list as he continues to make a fool of himself during his NHL stint. Today he crossed several lines, causing a scene as the Rangers defeated the Devils 3-1.

Rempe Gets Ejected After High Elbow On Devils Defenseman

It all started when Rempe decided to make a bad hit on Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler. He deliberately raised his elbow to make contact with the blueliner's head as he made the hit. The referees instantly called him for a match penalty, giving the Devils a 5 minute powerplay.




After the hit, things only got worse for the Rangers rookie. One Devil in particular was looking to make him pay for his actions, but he was quickly escorted off the ice by the officials after he refused to drop the gloves. The cherry on top was the way he waved to the Devils as he exited the ice.

MacDermid Calls Out Rempe For Immature Play After Refusing To Fight

Curtis MacDermid is a tough customer in his own right. He is not afraid to drop the gloves with anyone, including 6'8" Rempe. Tonight he was on a mission to make the rookie fight after he was ejected just over a week ago the last time these two teams met. However, Rempe refused to drop the gloves with him.


This trend continued after Rempe's hit on Siegenthaler. MacDermid was on the ice so he immediately challenged him to a fight again but the 21-year-old refused to go again.


After the game MacDermid expressed how he felt about the whole situation. He called out Rempe basically for acting like a baby and refusing to take accountability for his actions.
