Vladimir Tarasenko went from celebrating the biggest win of his life, the Stanley Cup, to now mourning the biggest loss of his life, the passing of his father. Only 2 weeks removed from the most thrilling victory of his life, Vladimir was excited to be able to bring the Cup back home so that he could celebrate with his family, but sadly, that will not be possible. His father Andrei, has passed away at age 56. HC Sibir has confirmed this. Andrei Tarasenko has passed away. 😢 #RIP 56 years old.

Andrei played 20 years of hockey back in his home country of Russia, and later took on a player development role with HC Sabir.

Andrei was a huge reason that Vladimir got into hockey as a child. Like many parents out there, Andrei would no doubt take his son to his games, and give him advice on how to be the best player he can. This one is going to hurt Vladimir for a very long time. Condolences to his entire family.
