The Edmonton Oilers fans were one of the last groups to fall victim to jersey sponsorships, but now, it's coming at an added cost to them.

Jersey sponsorship has taken over the NHL as the league puts the wishes of their fans to the side in order to make more money, and now the Edmonton Oilers have been added to the list of teams to do just that.

While this is bad enough, with Play Alberta becoming the sponsor for both NHL teams based in Alberta, fans of the Oilers have noticed an extra fee that's tacked onto a purchase of their Fanatics jerseys.

According to Ryan Hall of Oilers Daily, a photo was taken of the price tag of a Connor McDavid premier royal jersey and directly below was a play Alberta home jersey fee of $10. Many fans felt that it's understood that this cost should not come down to them as it's directly related with the organization.

A new report has revealed that with the purchase of a Fanatics Oilers jersey, fans will pay $10 to have the Play Alberta logo on their home jersey, and while it's unclear whether or not this will be optional or forced upon fans, it's not a good look for Fanatics or the Oilers. Unsurprisingly, on the announcement post, fans were not thrilled at all about the new addition to jerseys, as they reacted much the same way that every fan has about the new situation.

Simply put, logo advertisements on jerseys aren't a good look in the NHL, and fans have been quick to let the NHL know how upset they are about the additions all around the league, but with a $10 fee to add a logo that no one wants to see is just ridiculous, so expect Oilers fans to keep voicing their outrage.
