Comments from Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch after last night's overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers have caused potential controversy The Edmonton Oilers pulled out a win last night against the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in overtime. The Edmonton Oilers got support from several players up and down the lineup including goals from Leon Draisaitl, Connor Brown, Adam Henrique, and Evan Bouchard.

After the game reporters went to speak to Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch. Normally after a win a head coach would be incredibly excited and positive about how the game went. Instead, Kris Knoblauch was frustrated with the officiating from throughout the game.
Kris Knoblauch calls out the NHL for inconsistent rules
At one point during the press conference, Kris Knoblauch was asked about the first goal scored by Flyers forward and rookie phenom Matvei Michkov. The goal was challenged for goalie interference as Matvei Michkov seemed to push the goaltender's pad into the net with the puck.

The play was reviewed and ultimately called a goal. After the game, Kris Knoblauch was asked by a reporter if he feels there is a clear definition of what is considered goaltender interference in today's game. REPORTER: Do you feel you have clarity on what is or isn't goaltender interference? KNOBLAUCH: Well, I saw the goal that got disallowed today in Vancouver. I thought that was very similar. So I guess to answer your question, no I don't.

Kris Knoblauch refers to a play from earlier in the day where Vancouver was playing the Tampa Bay Lightning. Lightning forward Michael Eyssimont pulled off a very similar move to that of Matvei Michkov.

Despite all of the frustration the Edmonton Oilers would come out on top. After days of talking about needing to sharpen up from several players including Corey Perry and Connor McDavid the Oilers finally did. A call out from McDavid seemed to do the trick and rallied the team to play much better against the Philadelphia Flyers. With all of this now out there from Kris Knoblauch, it is likely nothing will change from the NHL. It seems that he at least avoided a fine after his comments from last night. Most importantly the Oilers tallied their first win of the season which I'm sure is good enough for Kris Knoblauch.
