The Edmonton Oilers are in the final stages of trimming down their roster ahead of the 2024/25 regular season, and now they've made a call on a further five players. This off-season was a crucial one for the Edmonton Oilers, and after an incredible campaign a year ago, they needed to make some big moves to improve this roster. They've done that with the additions of Jeff Skinner, Ty Emberson and Victor Arvidsson, but still face many questions, particularly about the right side defense and the over reliance on veterans in their bottom-six. On top of that, the team have also sent James Hamblin to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, with the 25-year old looking to build on a season where he played a career high 31 games with the Oilers last year, in which time he tallied a solid 2 goals and 3 points. The team will officially announce their regular season roster in the days prior to the year beginning, but as of now it's shaping up nicely, with just a few position battles left to sort out as Edmonton look to make it back to the Stanley Cup Finals and go one step further than they did in 2023/24.
