In a press conference, the Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch revealed Evander Kane's status ahead of the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals. Since the end of the regular season, Kane has been suffering from a sports hernia, which visibly affected his performances. However, he continued to play through it, missing only the last three games of the regular season. In 18 playoff games, he tallied eight points, including four goals. Unfortunately, he may have worsen his injury in game six of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars. He retreated to the locker room following a hit on an opponent in the first period, and didn't take part in a single shift in the third period, going back home after only 4:39 of ice time. Kris Knoblauch provided an update about Kane's status in a recent press conference. The coach revealed that he's expecting to be ready for game one, set to go down next Saturday, in Florida. <q>Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said he expects winger Evander Kane to be ready to start the Stanley Cup Final.
