Joe Pavelski, veteran of the Dallas Stars, announced during his end-of-season press conference that he doesn't plan on returning to the NHL next season. The Stars players were back in Dallas following their tough loss in Edmonton. The team that many experts predicted would go to the Stanley Cup Finals were no match against Connor McDavid and the Oilers, who eliminated them from the Western Conference Finals in six games. In a last confrontation with the media, Pavelski stated that despite an impresssive season where he scored 67 points at 39 years old, he won't be back in the NHL next season. Dallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski says «this is it for me.» Says it's not official official, but said it was known for a long time that this was his last go. «Plan is not to play next season.»

It all started over 20 years ago for Pavelski.
