The Florida Panthers gave Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid a tough time in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Despite the Oilers dominating the game and outshooting the Panthers 32-18, they were stoned by Sergei Bobrovksy and fell 3-0 on Saturday in Sunrise.

McDavid was active with six shots on goal, but Florida's defense has been relentless.

Sam Bennett drilled McDavid at center ice for one of his 11 hits, and Matthew Tkachuk went at him between whistles.

I enjoy mcdavid suffering but i hate florida behavior

To top it off, Bobrovsky made an incredible close-range save against McDavid in the slot. He was in the zone all evening to the tune of a shutout, which included 18 high danger saves and a 5.61 goals saved above expected.

Hyman, Draisaitl and McDavid connect for a nice passing play but Bobrovsky is there to make the save.

Adding to the disappointing evening, McDavid got cut on the Bennett hit and had to put a bandage over his beard.

Love the way they just slapped a band aid on McDavid's beard
