Philadelphia Flyers fans, we have some surprising news about one of your prospects, Alexei Kolosov. The young goaltender has decided to head back to Russia. Kolosov was a 3rd round pick in 2021, and there was a lot of excitement around him after his solid performance in the KHL as an 18-year-old. Yet he only played two games with the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms and felt isolated when he arrived in North America. Apparently, he was put up in a hotel by himself, and with his limited English, it was a tough situation. Per AHL source, Alexei Kolosov told #Flyers at the end of his stint w/ Lehigh Valley he did not want to return They put him in the hotel by himself & he felt isolated, especially since his English isn't great

To make matters worse, he watched Ivan Fedotov jump straight to the NHL with the Flyers and get a big contract extension. Not to mention you watch Ivan Fedotov go straight to the NHL with #Flyers & get a big contract extension shortly after the season ends.

Despite this, Kolosov is still considered a legit NHL prospect. Some scouts believe he might come back to North America eventually, but it seems unlikely it will be with the Flyers, who still hold his rights.
