Toronto Maple Leafs fans awoke to pleasantly surprising news this morning: GM Brad Treliving has convinced previously disgruntled forward Nick Robertson to remain in blue and white.

This is a huge twist in the saga, especially Robertson was adamant about being traded all Summer long. Yet today, fans can breathe a little easier knowing that the Leafs have secured him with a one-year deal worth $875,000.

This season will bring some changes for Robertson, with a new coach in Craig Berube replacing Sheldon Keefe and a different atmosphere surrounding the team, being Auston Matthews is now the captain.

Hopefully, these changes give him the boost he needs to excel on the left side and remind fans all why they were so excited about him in the first place.

Here's to hoping he not only has a great season but also wins back the support of Leafs Nation. Welcome back Nick!
