Tonight former NHL defenseman Tony DeAngelo spoke out on social media and trolled Maple Leafs fans who are unhappy with Mitch Marner. Throughout the entire offseason and the beginning of the 2024-25 NHL season Mitch Marner has been a focal point for Toronto Maple Leafs fans. After the Maple Leafs lost to the Boston Bruins in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, many fans blamed Mitch Marner's play and wanted him traded. Since then the Toronto Maple Leafs fan base seems to have turned on Mitch Marner and made him the scapegoat for anything that goes wrong and continue to beg he be traded. Last night against the Edmonton Oilers Mitch Marner had the best game of his season to this point.
