NHL fans are often upset by how replay review is handled and Alex Ovechkin revealed the same thing recently, saying the league should change how reviews are done.

Ovechkin's offseason is well under way this year after the Capitals were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the New York Rangers. Yesterday he was a guest on the Russian podcast, "This is Hockey, Brother," where he talked hockey with his countrymen. At one point he was asked if he could change any one rule in the NHL, what would it be? His answer was quite surprising.
"Video replay. Why? Well, first of all, when you watch the video replay, the referees make decisions that are not very clear, whether there was offside, whether there was a goal. Well, it's kind of unclear to me. Now they canceled [the goal], and the same situation at the next game they counted it."

It seems like the players are just as frustrated with how the current replay system works as we are as fans. To be fair, offsides reviews are typically pretty straightforward, but other reviews are often very confusing, especially when it comes to goaltender interference.
At this point in his career, Ovechkin's primary goal is to set a new all-time goal record as he chases down Wayne Gretzky. Last season he broke another record, becoming the first player in NHL history to score 18 30-goal seasons.
The Great Eight does it again!

Alex Ovechkin becomes the first player in NHL history to record 18 seasons with at least 30 goals! 🚨

He might find scoring a little more difficult in the final years of his career though. On the one hand, he did seem to have some age-related decline this season. Furthermore, CCM no longer makes the stick he has used throughout his career, so he will have to find a new model that works for him. It will likely never be the same though, so that is one thing to keep an eye on next season.
"They don't listen to us."

In a new tell-all conversation with http://sports.ru, Alex Ovechkin explains switching hockey sticks, adding that CCM stopped producing his original specs as the major companies push to release new technology.

Be sure to stay tuned to Ovi and the Capitals over the next couple of seasons as the great eight tries to pass the great one. He is currently just 41 goals behind. Can he score that many next season? Only time will tell.
