NHL insider John Lu has revealed that the Jets are looking to add depth players at the deadline, and GM Kevin Cheveldayoff could be very busy working the phones. <a href='https://x.com/JohnLuTSNWpg' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>John Lu</a> covered the Winnipeg Jets' trade deadline approach and introduced <a href='https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/countdown-to-tradecentre-jets-potential-moves-will-be-geared-tow~3084854' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>what he believes is next for the team</a> in the next 10 to 12 days. As the trade deadline is near, the Winnipeg Jets need to decide whether to bolster their roster. Do they pursue a center, bolster their blue line, or sit on their hands? <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/NHLrumorsX/status/1879964440785015014'> </a></blockquote></div> <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl-team/winnipeg-jets/winnipeg-jets-franchise-makes-history-with-two-game-changing-milestones' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Now on nine straight wins,</a> the Jets have kept up their dominant ways even without their captain. Now that Adam Lowry is back, Winnipeg brings back its entire cadre of centermen. Even a chance could exist for <a href='https://www.nhl.com/jets/player/adam-lowry-8476392' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Lowry</a> himself to take over the second-line center position, as an internal solution with Vladislav Namestnikov, the team's current 2C, allowing him to shift down to 3C. If that happens to be true, it would represent a departure from GM Kevin Cheveldayoff's conventional deadline strategy. In years past, he's been aggressive with 2C, acquiring such players as Paul Stastny, Kevin Hayes, and, last season, Sean Monahan well ahead of the deadline. But this year the Jets perhaps won't go looking outside of the organization to address the need at center, thanks to Lowry. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/HockeyDaily365/status/1864867338559902185'> </a></blockquote></div> <h3>The Jets could turn their attention to a defenseman, per John Lu</h3> Instead, <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl-team/winnipeg-jets/winnipeg-jets-connected-to-a-norris-trophy-caliber-defenseman-ahead-of-the-trade-deadline' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Cheveldayoff could seek to strengthen the defense,</a> as he did with the addition of Colin Miller last season. A veteran blue-liner would add depth and stability to a team that has been one of the NHL's top two teams on both sides of the puck. <a href='https://www.nhl.com/standings/2025-02-23/wildcard' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>With the Jets sitting at or near the top of the division</a> and the entire league all season long, any moves will likely be tweaking and not going for a splash. Chemistry is valued, and Winnipeg will not want to disrupt the chemistry of a team with the league's most potent offense and top defense.
