Following last night's thrilling overtime win, the Jets have just become the first-ever NHL team to win two consecutive games when trailing both in the final minute.

The Winnipeg Jets matched a franchise record for consecutive wins at 10 games as they defeated the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in overtime at Canada Life Centre.

Mark Scheifele and Josh Morrissey tallied as Winnipeg improved to 42-14-3 and gained a point on the Capitals for best in the league record.

The Jets can make it 11 in a row tomorrow night in Ottawa

Connor Hellebuyck was back in the net after the 4 Nations Face-Off break, making 17 saves in the win. The Jets have two road games, starting Wednesday in Ottawa.

Winnipeg also made NHL history as the first team to trail in the last minute of the third period of back-to-back games and win both.

Saturday, they trailed by a goal in St. Louis when Gabe Vilardi scored 28 seconds from the game's end, with the Jets defeating the Blues 4-3 in a shootout.

Last night, Morrissey's point shot bounced off Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro and in the net with 26 seconds remaining, setting Scheifele up for his overtime heroics.

Winnipeg is the seventh team this season with at least two last-minute, game-tying goals, joining Seattle, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, Anaheim, Pittsburgh, and Minnesota.

Hellebuyck was not frequently tested but contributed important saves to put Winnipeg within scoring distance after San Jose scored their first at 15:07 of the first period.

The Jets goaltender stretched his own winning string to seven, tying Laurent Brossoit (2018-19) for the second-most in franchise history.

His individual record is nine consecutive victories during 2017-18, and he is now league-best with 35 victories this year.
