A new update has added a lot of context to the injury that Connor Bedard suffered against the New Jersey Devils.

Blackhawks Head Coach Shares Major Bedard Update

During his media availability Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson spoke about Connor Bedard's recovery after taking a nasty hit from Devils defenseman Brendan Smith.

Richardson says that Bedard is dealing with swelling in his jaw that has made a timeline difficult to project.

Luke Richardson on whether they Blackhawks have set a recovery timeline for Connor Bedard's fractured jaw:

No. Still just evaluating how he's doing and settling down. It's swollen, so the doctors are giving it a few days to see how it settles.

The Blackhawks like the rest of us will now wait for the swelling to decrease so that a proper evaluation can be done. Once this is possible a more concrete timeline can be given. As that process occurs and more information is reported we will pass that along to you.
