Last night was one of many games to forget for the Habs. The Maple Leafs were simply dominant and the Tricolore were never in the game. Like yesterday's game, Chris Wideman's season is not easy. The defenseman had earned a two-year contract extension after his strong finish last year, but he didn't give Kent Hughes a run for his money. In fact, despite the injuries to the defensemen, Wideman has only played 44 games. It's frustrating in his case and he didn't hesitate to take a swipe at the Leafs for their decision to put the emergency goalie in at the end of the game, mentioning that in a few weeks, Toronto will get what it deserves. Of course, Wideman is referring to the fact that the Leafs haven't been able to get past the first round of the playoffs in almost 20 years. People are furious on social media and with good reason. Wideman falls into the category of useless braying. Nothing wrong with giving Alexander the time of his life playing 70 seconds in goal.

With the score at 7-1 and just over a minute to play, the Leafs decided to give their backup goalie a dream come true, which is a nice gesture on their part.
