Connor McDavid recently made some controversial comments on Vancouver Canucks coach Rick Tocchet after a game between the Oilers and the Canucks.
Canucks Smoke The Oilers In Season Opener

The Vancouver Canucks played their season opener against the Edmonton Oilers. What was considered to be a highly anticipated rivalry turned into a dud of a game quickly. The Canucks came out and absolutely wiped the floor with the Oilers winning 8-1. The game was never particularly close with the Canucks jumping out to a 4-0 lead before the Oilers could get on the board. Brock Boeser had an outstanding 4 goal night. However, the focus of the night after the game was not on the Canucks and their outstanding play but some shocking comments from Oilers captain Connor McDavid.
McDavid Calls Out Canucks Head Coach
After the game, a frustrated Connor McDavid decided to call out head coach Rick Tocchet for some of his decisions during the game. The first decision McDavid did not like was Tocchet continuing to send out his top powerplay unit even when the game was already decided. «They made a few decisions in the third period that I thought were interesting,» said McDavid. «Anytime they roll out the first power-play unit, it's not ideal, not a situation we wanna be in, and obviously we don't like that.» Then McDavid went on to take his frustrations out on the goaltending change that the Canucks made late in the game. «Throwing the backup goalie in with 10 minutes left, I have not seen that,» added McDavid. «It's not like DeSmith is an [emergency backup goalie] or anything like that, so I thought that was interesting.» After McDavid made these comments it was revealed that Thatcher Demko was removed from the game due to illness. This likely would change McDavid's view on this move but makes his comments seem even more disgusting nonetheless. While this is just early season frustration the NHL fans expect more from Connor McDavid than taking his frustrations out on the other team's coach. The Oilers will need to figure out what went wrong quickly as they will look to rebound on Saturday in a rematch against the Vancouver Canucks.

As Read On - Hockey Feed - Connor McDavid calls out Canucks coach Tocchet's late-game decisions!
