The Calgary Flames are facing a tough situation with their head coach, Darryl Sutter. Despite having just signed a big extension, it appears that he may be on his way out. Insiders report that players have expressed their concerns in exit interviews, stating that Sutter's outdated coaching methods have caused him to lose the respect of many players and to have sucked the life out of star player Jonathan Huberdeau.

The Flames are a team in transition, with an aging roster and no playoff success to show for it. With the recent approval of a massive $1.2 billion arena deal and Huberdeau's $10.5 million annual extension kicking in next season, the team may need to make some changes to turn their fortunes around.

According to insider Evan Renaerts, the Flames will likely go in a different direction next year and buy out Sutter, despite the fact that he has two years left on his contract at $4 million per year. While Sutter is highly regarded in the hockey industry, it seems that his tenure in Calgary may be coming to an end.

The question now is whether Sutter was the problem or if it's the players on the ice who can't get it done. Only time will tell if a new coach can turn things around for the Flames.
