In order to respect the 23-player rule in the team's entourage, Martin St-Louis and his team will have some important decisions to make in the coming days. Currently, there are 16 forwards, 12 defensemen and three goaltenders, which means that logically, the team will have to get rid of three forwards, five backs and one goaltender.

For the goalies, it is almost certain that Cayden Primeau will go to Laval. On the defense side, there is a great battle and it will be a real headache to make decisions for the coaching staff. For the forwards, Guillaume Latendresse has his own idea.

"To the extent that we want to change the dynamic, the philosophy and we're willing to lose some games, these are players that are not part of the plan.

We have to find a way to get rid of Drouin, Dadonov and Hoffman, whether it's through the trade market or the draft. I'd like to see the young guys get their chance. - Guillaume Latendressev

It must be said that this is not crazy, it remains to be seen if the youngsters will progress better in the NHL or in the AHL. According to Maxim Lapierre, caution is in order and he would sacrifice Christian Dvorak instead.

« Kirby Dach and Sean Monahan are a hundred times better than Dvorak. This is a league that is getting faster and Christian is getting slower.

You have to trade a guy between Dvorak and Hoffman even though it's not easy to do because of the salary cap." - Maxim Lapierre
