The Winnipeg Jets are pushing hard for the Stanley Cup in 2025 as they sit in the top seed in the West, and now, they're targeting some big time stars via trade. The Winnipeg Jets currently sit in first place in both the Central Division and the Western Conference, and given the elite goaltending and the play of Kyle Connor & Mark Scheifele, this is a team that could go deep in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, they're not sitting on their heels and waiting for the post-season to roll around, as the team are reportedly very active in trade conversations, with the likes of Ryan O'Reilly, Dylan Cozens and Brock Nelson all names that have been linked to the team. Now, Kevin Cheveldayoff may have locked in two major targets, with Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson of the Vancouver Canucks both distinct possibilities for the Jets as they look to bolster and already high performing forward group, according to Murat Ates of The Athletic. Going down the list, there is one player that strikes anyone and that is Brock Boeser. Boeser is high on many lists and was on Winnipeg's radar before the 2015 NHL Draft. That being said, the Vancouver winger does not drive offense and that is always needed with the Jets. He can score though. While a 2C upgrade is the biggest likelihood for this team at the current moment, Boeser can certainly help them score on the wing, and if they can land him for the right price, it's a move that makes sense. As of right now, the team are likely looking to hang onto Pettersson after trading J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, but if the Jets want to push for a Stanley Cup run in 2025, don't be shocked to see them push hard for some of the biggest names in the league ahead of the deadline.
