When the Calgary Flames missed the playoffs, it was clear that changes were necessary in the organization, with many people blaming coach Daryl Sutter. Today, the Flames finally made the move and relieved Sutter of his coaching duties. However, some feel that this decision should have been made earlier, especially after the issues with players. Some even speculate that General Manager Brad Treliving stepped down because he couldn't work with Sutter. One of the players who clashed with Sutter was Jonathan Huberdeau, who joined the Flames in a blockbuster deal with Florida. Unfortunately, Huberdeau struggled under Sutter and had the worst season of his career. Today Huberdeau showed he was very happy with the coaching change saying: Having a new coach is going to help my game and my confidence, too. - Jonathan Huberdeau I think the Flames will definitely flourish under a new coach especially one that let's the players play without being held down to a old school hockey system like Sutter did.
