We recently learned that Kristopher Letang's father unfortunately passed away a few days ago, forcing the Quebecer to return to Montreal to join his family.

Letang's father's funeral was held today and his teammates made an unprecedented gesture towards their friend.

After their game against the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday at about 4 a.m., the Pittsburgh Penguins flew to Montreal to support Letang during the funeral instead of going straight home to Pennsylvania.

They will have to leave immediately afterwards, as they have a game against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday.

What a truly touching gesture that proves how close this team is and how much Letang is a valued teammate in the locker room. Hats off to the Penguins for the gesture, it's really a great story!

Wow!
