The Calgary Flames are in a full rebuild ever since missing the playoffs last season. With a new GM in Craig Conroy (replacing Brad Treliving) and a new head coach in Ryan Huska, the team is hoping to build on its young talent moving forward.
Not with Hanifin
That rebuild won't be with young star defenseman Noah Hanifin, though, as insider Frank Seravalli reported that he and the club are not getting a deal done to extend his contract. Frank also says Noah Hanifin is a non starter and definitely not re-signing. #Flames #NHL #NHLTwitter

Time is of the essence to move Hanifin
Hanifin's contract is set to expire after next season. The 26-year-old defenseman should get a decent return for his value, putting up 7 goals and 31 assists for the Flames this past season.

However, with his 8-team NTC, the market for Hanifin is slim. New GM Craig Conroy has his work cut out for him to get Hanifin out of Calgary before he leaves for nothing.
